I like the app and it is a step in the right direction. Sounds are good. But, it needs the ability to record notes and melodies, it needs the ability to play chords and scales, it needs the ability to transpose, it needs the ability to send by email. When it gets those features, it will be earn more than three stars.
I do like this app. Sounds are very good. It is a different and easy way to play melodies, chords and scales in a small device. I do like that you can transpose to every note and still follow the same playing sequence. It would be an added feature to include recording capabilities. Still I think it is very nice!!!
This app is as good as any music-instrument app available. It works well for musicians and beginners like myself. The layout of the interface is pretty intuitive. I didn’t read the instructions before playing it, but after 5 minutes I was getting how to choose chords and change them. It’s also nice to have a guitar and steel drums interface for an added tropical music flavor. Even my 2 & half year old child enjoyed the app, as he followed the chords highlighted on screen, pressing and sliding his finger. SimpleMusic also ads an educational value, so one can learn chords, play scales, melodies, and more. Thumbs up in my book!!
Have a 2nd Gen ipod and this app will not sync to the pod.
...once you get the feel for what was intended ...this app is MOST playable! I can sit down and play whole songs (enjoy playing what I already know)! Or easily find a diff sound and or style just because of the revolutionary layout (it facilitates finding diff chords, composition, melody lines)!!!!! Im doing some song writing right now with it!!!!!! (and I thought it would be just another tinker toy app). I stopped looking at (conventional) piano apps because they all seem to be DISAPPOINTING... I tried this app because it was cheap and I like looking for something that is new and innovative in design... Something that TRUELY UTILIZES the space and interface of the iPad... As with any instrument, the more time you spend with it the better... Piano QUITE enjoyable!!! the GUITAR!!!!!!!!! ...I can come off when some REALLY impressive finger picking style OR country alternating bass.... Steel drums mean very little to me but Im sure there are many others that like them very much...
